Quality childcare matters!

Childcare is not a 9–5 job. Providers work early mornings, late evenings, and weekends — writing curriculum, shopping for supplies, cleaning classrooms, sanitizing toys, and preparing safe, engaging environments. The job doesn’t stop when the door closes.

Childcare is expensive because quality care requires investment. The average provider puts about 50% of their income back into their business to maintain standards, safety, and enrichment.

I keep my tuition aligned with Oregon DHS ERDC (Employment Related Daycare Assistance) rates. I don’t charge more, and I legally cannot charge less — DHS requires that private‑pay families are billed at least the ERDC reimbursement rate. Charging less would mean violating policy and financially harming my program.

High‑quality childcare matters. It shapes children’s futures, and it deserves to be valued.
